Pre-K through 3rd Grade families, mark your calendars for our Family Literacy Night on Thursday April 18th!

Mrs. Williams' (Ms. Forsyth's) 6th Grade ELA classes completed their 3rd Quarter Projects. Each student created a poster, character diary, book-in-a-bag, or a diorama to portray characters, settings, and/or events from the book they read. This year, she had the kids vote on their favorite dioramas from each class, & each winner received a small snack item prize! 6A winners: Kinsey Maschhoff & Hailey Kaemmerer 6B winners: Lucas Green & Seamus Thompson 6C winner: Wyatt Fulkerson She also had the kids vote on the OVERALL best diorama, and Wyatt Fulkerson was the winner. He won his choice of lunch from anywhere in town! Great job 6th grade!

There will be an art walk, interactive activities, and live music scheduled from 5:00-7:00pm and will culminate with the final band and chorus concert of the school year at 7:30pm in the gymnasium. Today our 1st Graders celebrated the 120th day of the school year with a construction theme. Our 1st Graders have spent the school year, up until today, "constructing" their skills to be able to read and write up to the number 120!

Congratulations to the Chess Team! On January 31st the team took 1st Place as the champions in the Cahokia Conference Chess Competition. Way to go to team!

Mrs. Berry's 8th graders recently gave speeches in class. They took on the role of abolitionists, who wanted freedom for all people in slavery, invited by the Northern delegates to the Constitutional Convention. They gave speeches to their classmates (playing the role of the delegates) to convince them to end slavery with the creation of the new U.S. Constitution.
