Mrs. Berry's 8th graders recently gave speeches in class. They took on the role of abolitionists, who wanted freedom for all people in slavery, invited by the Northern delegates to the Constitutional Convention. They gave speeches to their classmates (playing the role of the delegates) to convince them to end slavery with the creation of the new U.S. Constitution.

They have taken on leadership opportunities and their accomplishments are known and valued by multiple populations: colleagues, students, parents, and school leaders.
