Mrs. Walls' class' future is looking bright without drugs & Mrs. Lucash's class is bright learning about community helpers!
Yesterday was the first day of Red Ribbon Week and we wore red to show we are drug- free! Here are Mrs. Gerberding, Mrs. Walls & Mrs. Kapp's classes!
Mrs. Carter and the Art Club helped in the children's section at the Haunted Trail this weekend. They painted faces, helped decorate pumpkins and ran the games. So much fun!
Happy Bosses' Day!
Today Ms. Dobey's 3rd Grade Class did a fun STEM activity where the students had to make a tower that could stand on its own. They could only use marshmallows and toothpicks. You can tell they had a lot of fun!
The 7th and 8th graders recently learned about the work of artist Wayne Thiebaud in Art class. They created plaster cake sculptures. They almost look realistic enough to eat!
Yesterday Kindergarten & 1st Grade visited the Fire Station to learn about fire safety!
This week in STEM...Kindergarten made insects from play-doh, 1st grade used pattern blocks to create symmetry and 3rd grade used pulleys.
Today the Pre-K and EC classes had a special visit from the Smithton Volunteer Fire Department! The classes loved learning about fire safety from Captain Knake and Firefighter Bryce! They got to hear a real smoke alarm, and discussed what to do if there is a fire at their house. They also got to climb inside one of the fire trucks, and Captain Knake even turned on the siren! Thanks SVFD! 🚒🚨🔥

Thank you Smithton Teachers for everything that you do! Your contributions do not go unnoticed. Our students are so lucky to have each and every one of you in their corners.
October is AAC Awareness Month! Mrs. Morra, our amazing Speech Language Pathologist, reminds us that everyone deserves a voice with her amazing bulletin board!
AAC stands for Augmentative and Alternative Communication, which are ways people use to communicate besides talking; typically when someone is unable to speak or hard to understand. However, we ALL use AAC when we type, text, write & gesture!
Kindergarten went to the Pumpkin Patch on Friday. Here are some pictures from Mrs. Brueggemann's class!
6th Grade playing the cardboard box games they created in STEM class!
